I’ve been building web sites for a very long time, since before they were called blogs. That was my favourite time on the web. Every one building their own sites by hand, community sites, story sites, a bit of everything.
Then I built a nerd blog, then several more. Got involved with the RSS vs Atom fights (firmly an Atom guy still). But after a few years with each, I’d get bored, get outraged, delete them, then start again with something new when I got twitchy. This time, it’s taken me a few years to get twitchy.
Why WordPress? I prefer Jekyll. Or using Bottle.py to build my own. But for a variety of reasons I need to get to know WordPress and Mysql better than I do. So here I am, with WordPress and Percona (my inner nerd is still a rebellious little shit).
Just joking about the romance novels!
